Diving for all

MarySol

We are super pleased to have recently signed a contract with a hotel here in Tenerife specialising in accommodation for disabled guests (Mar y Sol – translates as Sea and Sun) , which prides itself on offering a range of sports and training options, one of which is diving. In the past guests of the hotel have dived with us and reported back, favourably ?, to the manager, and in this way Aqua-Marina came into the frame for providing diving services. Our instructors have recently completed some training to better equip them for the different scenarios they may now encounter, so we’re all set! If any of you would like to know more about the facilities at the hotel Mar y Sol, please get in touch and we will be happy to advise you or introduce you to them.

BSAC Combined Training Event

BSAC

Last week saw the number of BSAC Instructors and Advanced Instructors grow as Dennis Wigg signed off 5 happy and relieved candidates - congratulations to Bob and Dave on their AI qualification and to Laurie, Carol and Keith on their Instructor qualification! All went smoothly apart from a delay with the delivery of training materials, which Dennis and co-pilot Dave coped with like the pros they are. Now next year´s event is already in the diary - 16th to 23th March 2012, so all you budding BSAC Instructors have got 11 months to prepare and no excuses!

Las Vegas (Tenerife)

Las Vegas

Ok, we said it would be just a few select excursions that we would be selling, but we found that people were asking for a wider range, so wider it is! And we have been amazed at the amount of action available. One of the surprises for us has been the number of different trekking routes on offer and for holiday makers who’ve just packed for diving and beach, everything is provided from pick-up and picnic to backpack and boots. As someone who has flown far and wide for trekking holidays, Madge’s curiosity was roused and she recently completed a circular trek around a hamlet called Las Vegas and declared her half day trek one of the most beautiful, dramatic and tranquil she has found anywhere in the world!

On yer bike!

bikediver

We are now also renting out bikes, which is proving hugely popular both with the fantastically fit folk who want to cycle up the mountain and with those who want simply to amble along the promenade or get from A to B without any parking problems. Special rates for you guys!

Little and Large

Ray

Once again we are back to the time of year when the water is teeming with balls of tiny fry that we hope to see survive and prosper. And just a few days ago Paul was doing a training dive from the beach with one of our customers and saw an Atlantic ray with approximately a 2 metre wingspan. Now that's what we like - nice surprises
